We were very disappointed to learn Monster Pets refuses to consider eliminating the sale of dogs from puppy mills. We understand that there is little legal recourse to prevent Monster Pets from supporting the cycle of puppy mill abuse (witness the monumental difficulties facing two bills pending in the Pennsylvania legislature that seek only to reduce the most egregious abuses in the state’s many puppy mills) but we are saddened by the expressed view that since Monster Pets is doing nothing illegal, they are doing nothing wrong. This attitude has allowed puppy mills to flourish, even when the abuses are horrific and well-documented. We were hopeful that after learning more about the realities of puppy mills and the crisis of pet overpopulation in the local area, we all could work together to help improve the lives of animals in the community. Instead, Monster Pets plans to continue to sell dogs from puppy mills solely because it's part of their "business plan.”

Monster Pets' West Philadelphia Grand Opening Circular Ad
A store is not "pet friendly" when they treat animals like inventory.
Monster Pets claims to have "Philadelphia's Largest Selection" of puppies. We think they are in competition with the local shelter that has so many dogs in need of homes that they are forced to decide which dogs to kill every day. Why does Monster Pets still choose to sell dogs when instead they can make the choice to save lives?
